Not much of a country fan.

I didn't know anything else really existed for about 18 years... so I've tried to remedy that the last ten (ish) years by staying away from it.

I realized while talking to Garrett today on the phone that I have not posted on here in ages.

What a shame.

I really liked the idea of this blog. A story, a poem, a thought, a video... all things I wanted to enjoy and share.

But not much has happened.

However, after hanging up, (and resolving to delete this blog altogether), this song came to mind.



I think I've talked about it before.

Not sure if it was on the regular blog or here... but I'm almost positive I've mentioned it someplace.

The thing is, this song... this album isn't out yet. So I am left to crummy (this one is superior to others I've found though) youtube recordings to bring a song to you that penetrated my heart so deeply that when I heard them perform this live tears stung my eyes and a lump formed in my throat.

I want to explain why it touched me so deeply, but I can't. Or rather, I won't in this post.

But if you can listen past the crowd and soak in the lyrics and the emotion just maybe you'll feel something also.

Less than two... how difficult it is when you realize that's where you're at... and you'd do anything to change it... but it is what it is.

Or rather...

it isn't what it isn't.

This song makes me dance in my kitchen with reckless abandon. In fact, a few minutes ago I was dancing to this and started spinning circles. I kept going and going... and got so dizzy I crashed into the sliding glass door.

This came on my playlist this morning at the gym (yes, I'm giving a shout out to myself for going to the gym... I'm not ashamed) and listened to it again tonight. I like it. Not a total favorite, but I find it lyrically pleasing and a bit reminiscent of my "Club Retrix" days (2001 ish)... so automatically I have to smile.

The concert was phenomenal.

We had such a great time.

PB&J in the car. And Kudos. And fruit snacks.

Not to mention Lady Danville groovy tunes.

And Barcelona. Serenading us.

And we talked to them in the hall. Just us. And them. And it was amazing.

So much love.

You can hear high quality Lady Danville here... (not saying the first video isn't nice, but the sound quality leaves a bit to be desired... but that song makes me giggle).

Want more Barcelona? Me too. They played a new song called "Less Than Two" that melted my butter. I can't find it though. I'm excited for the new album. (Do I say album? c.d.? blah, don't know).

a new beginning is always nice. whether a new year, a new day, a new hour... sometimes a new moment brings a bit of clarity that wasn't there before.

wish i had a different perspective today.
